The Quarter Horse Congress has been going on for over a week now. My husband and I have been here for the past 3 days competing in the halter. It has been successful for our halter team. The first of the pleasure futurities starts tomorrow; the first go of the 3 yr old non pro western pleasure. It's one of my favorite classes and I get to compete in it. One of the lovely things about showing at the congress is preparing your horse for the show arena. Lucky individuals like myself get to do this in the middle of night, due to all of the show pens being occupied during the entire day with classes. Tonight I have to practice with my 3, and the hours for riding western horses in the show arena are 2:30 a.m. to 6 a.m. So I am going to try and sleep some before going back out at 2 a.m. Welcome to "competing at the Congress"!
